- Appointment
time slots are not all the same! Certain visits do require more or
less time. We do try our best to stay on time to limit the time
patients need to wait in the waiting room.
- Our
appointment slots are scheduled as outlined:
- The
receptionist needs to know what type of service you need at the time
of booking the appointment so that she can book an appropriate
amount of time.
Regular visits:
- These appointments are
used for your
day-to-day needs.
- The doctor is able to
address ONE complaint or medical problem during a single regular
visit.
- Should you have
several other problems that also need attention, please schedule
further appointments on separate dates. Alberta Health and Wellness
will not allow more than one regular visit per patient with the same
doctor on any particular date.
Complete Physical
Examinations:
-
We
do recommend that patients of all ages
book a complete physical examination on an annual basis. These
visits are focused on preventative medical care.
-
Each
patient in Alberta is eligible to two comprehensive examinations
with the same physician per year.
-
Complete
physical examinations should be scheduled well in advance.
Psychiatric counseling:
- Psychiatric
counseling visits are exclusively booked on the recommendation of
the doctor following a regular visit.
- Should the doctor during any regular
visit be of the opinion that you need extended time to discuss social or
psychological problems, you will be rebooked for a counseling session to
allow extended time.
- In order to be fair to other
patients,
these visits will always be
at the end of the workday.
Procedures:
- All procedures will be booked as a
continuation of a previous regular visit.
- Surgical procedures will be booked
during certain predetermined times of the week and can not be done
during regular consultations.
Private (non
insured )medical examinations:
- Examples :
- Aviation medical
examinations.
- Immigration medical
examinations.
- Driver medical
examinations.
- Insurance medical
examinations.
- Private examinations are not insured by the Alberta Health Care plan (with the exception of senior
drivers older than 74 years 6 months).
- Please ask the receptionist about the fees at the
time of making the appointment.
- These examinations need to be paid in cash directly
after the medical.
Telephonic Consultations:
-
Should you wish to speak
to the doctor about an issue without coming in for a visit, you may
request the receptionist to ask the doctor to return your call.
-
Telephonic consultations are private
services (not paid by Alberta Health Care), and you will be
requested to pay for the service with a valid credit card at the
time requesting the telephonic consultation.
