It is important to realize that Alberta Health and
Wellness only pays for "essential services", and will not reimburse
us for services we do for you which they deem as "non-essential."
-
Services that are not included in their list of
benefits are therefore called PRIVATE SERVICES when done, and we
have to hold the patients receiving these services responsible for
payment.
- Typical
non-insured medical services are:
- Cosmetic
procedures;
- Aviation medical
examinations;
- Immigration medical
examinations;
- Drivers’
medical examinations;
-
Telephonic services;
- Flu
vaccinations (patients that do not qualify according to the AH&W
criteria);
- Bandages and dressings
we use;
- Medical certificates;
- Letters on
your behalf ;
- Completion
of Blue Cross prescription authorization forms ;
- Completion
of disability parking permits;
- Disability tax credit forms;
- Insurance
forms;
- MVA
reports;
- Chart
transfers;
- Photo-copies;
- Physician review time
of charts;
- “No-show”
for appointments.
- Payments for private services
are accepted in cash or a cheque supported
by picture ID and other acceptable ID.
- We do not have VISA or MASTER card
facilities.
- Should a cheque be returned by the bank without payment, a $50.00 service charge
will be added to the owed amount. Payment of the complete outstanding account will be required
immediately.
- Outstanding accounts will be billed accumulative interest at 3% per
month.
