It is the patient’s own responsibility to ensure
that the result of special tests ordered was received and
interpreted by the doctor.
-
We do not endorse
a policy of “no news is good news”.
Tests with abnormal results can become lost in the mail with no one knowing
about it.
-
It is the responsibility of the patient to ensure that result of all
tests were received and correctly interpreted. We therefore recommend a follow-up visit
approximately ten days after the test was
done.
-
Results of tests will not be provided by the staff.
(Prohibited by the Health Information Act)
-
Should you prefer to
discuss the results per phone with the physician rather than coming
in for a visit, you may certainly arrange for a telephonic
consultation with the receptionist. Telephonic services are private
services not paid for by Alberta health care, and you will be
required to pay for the service with a valid credit card at the time
of requesting the call-back.
-
You may
request copies of any test result or report to be
made for your own
records.
Copies from any part of a
medical chart is a private service.
As per the guidelines of the Alberta Medical
Association, we do charge a medical chart administration fee of
$5.00 plus $1.00 per page for this service
(up to 20 pages, thereafter 50c/page.)
